Our Doctors
Dr Magdy Elashrey opened Walloon Medical Centre in 2005, after recognizing the need for a
medical service in the area.
Dr ElAShrey has a diverse background having had experience in General Medicine, Gynecology
and Obstetrics, Pediatrics, ENT, Cardiology and Emergency Medicine.
Dr ElAShreys objective is to set up a comprehensive health service whilst reaching high
standards of Quality and infection control measures, build an excellent health care team, and
for Walloon Medical Centre to maintain its high level of service for patients.
Dr ElAShrey has a huge interest in matters of the skin, which has led to him opening a skin clinic
in 2018.
It gives Dr Elashrey great satisfaction to see the growth of the clinic and the relationships that
have been built between fellow Doctors and patients..
Dr Bushra graduated from Medical University in Lahore, Pakistan in 2008. She then attained
one year graduate experience in internal medicine and gynaecology and obstetrics before
working in Lahore as a General Practitioner. She found this to be very diverse and interesting.
Dr Bushra moved to Australia in 2011 with a plan to make General practice as her preferred
field of medicine. After working at Bundaburg Base Hospital, she joined a rural practice in
Mundubbera which was a wonderful experience, as they had limited access to specialists and
had to manage many complicated conditions in practice.
Whilst Dr Bushra enjoys all areas of general practice, she brings with her a passion for child
health, womens health, geriatrics and mental health.
Dr Janaki DeSilva has been a Doctor at Walloon Medical Centre for more than 10years with over 20years of experience as a medical practitioner. She completed both her GP training and fellowship in Australia. She has a very extensive background working at a number of major hospitals in Brisbane including the Mater Children’s , Mater Adult , Royal Brisbane, Caboolture , and the Prince Charles Hospital.
She has worked in cardiology, respiratory, orthopedics, palliative care, mental health, women's health, paediatrics, geriatrics and Emergency units. Further she has had training in skin cancer and worked full time in a skin cancer clinic as well. Dr DeSilva finds being a GP is very rewarding and loves working in a rural community . She has a particular interest in elderly health,Paediatrics, antenatal and post-natal care, chronic disease management, skin checks and excisions. In her free time Dr DeSilva loves to travel, and spend time with her family.
Dr Mostafa Vahabi joined Walloon Medical Centre since June 2016, bringing with him a passion for family medicine. Before joining Walloon Medical Centre, Dr Vahabi worked in Armidale Rural and Regional hospital in NSW as well as QEII and Princess Alexandra hospitals. He is interested in all aspects of General practice but not limited to chronic disease management, men's health, Musculoskeletal medicine, pain management and mental health. When he is not seeing patients, Dr Vahabi likes to spend time with his family, plays sport and engages in community activities..
